President’s Office- Update on CCA Conversions

Conversions; the Postmaster of Philadelphia told us the plan is to convert 47 CCA’s in the city.  They expect it will be done by November.  Hiring; they plan to hire 150 more CCA’s in the District, 77 of them will be for the city. 

Parcels; Amazon has informed the PO they expect a 40% increase in the Monday to Saturday parcels and a 400% increase in Sunday parcels for the Holiday season.  The Postal Service will add two Sunday hubs in the city, one at Frankford and another at Bustleton.  Scanners; they expect the new scanners to be in the offices by the end of November.  On a whole, we’re doing very good with the scanning.  There are a few offices with some problems, but even they are scanning at a very good percentage.  Keep it up, it’s the reason for the increase in parcels and they are going to be a big part of our future.  Of course our better prices are driving the increase as well, but without the scanning they will go to our competitors.  Keep up the good work.
