President’s Desk- “Amazon and CCA’s”

Randy Zebin

Hi everyone, Joe Rodgers, our Vice President and I had a meeting with the Philly Postmaster the other day, one of the things we talked about were parcels. Amazon has informed the Post Office they expect the Monday to Saturday parcels to increase by 40 % during November to January.  We said Monday to Saturday because they expect the Sunday parcels to increase by 400%. These increases are compared to the same period last year.  They are hiring 75 new CCA’s to help with the increase and they added two new Sunday hubs, Frankford and Bustleton, which are in addition to the 3 existing hubs in Germantown, MOD and Kingsessing.  They have added 88 new Sunday sites over the last few months that are mostly in the Associate Offices.  One of the reasons we’re getting this business is the scanning and overall we’re doing a good job with that, keep it up.  There are still some problems at a few stations and we’ll look into themWe also spoke about conversions in the city and when we have something solid, we’ll get it out.  Right now it looks like we’ll be making moves in late October.  Thanks
