J.R Parker, Philadelphia, PA Keystone Branch 157 (76 Years Old)

Regrettably, Keystone Branch 157 on November 9th lost J. R. Parker to Covid-19. J.R. served in numerous positions with Keystone Branch 157 Shop Steward, Main Office Delivery, Community Service Officer, Delegate to National and State Conventions, Delegate to Congressional Breakfast and most notably he was a Member of the Strike of 1970. JR will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

NALC is deeply saddened to learn that 70-year-old retired letter carrier Raymond “Doc” Dougherty, a member of Branch 157 in Philadelphia, died on Saturday, July 4, from complications related to COVID-19. Brother Dougherty began his 34-year career with the Postal Service in 1977. For many years, Doc served Branch 157 as a shop steward, a lead route inspection team member, and the assistant recording secretary.

During the DNC convention tonight, after Gov. Whittmer's speech there will be an commercial that a picture of Ray 'Doc' Dougherty will be in. She is scheduled to speak somewhere in the nine o'clock hour. Doc died on Saturday, July 4, from complications related to COVID-19. Brother Dougherty began his 34-year career with the Postal Service in 19777. For many years, Doc served Branch 157 as a shop steward, a lead route inspection team member, and the assistant recording secretary.

"The entire NALC grieves the loss of Brother Dougherty," NALC President Fredric Rolando said. "Our sincere condolences and heartfelt prayers go out to his family, friends, co-workers and loved ones.”
